Kentucky Current Burning Laws

During fire seasons, it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Spring Forest Fire Hazard Season: Feb. 15 - April 30. Fall Forest Fire Hazard Season: Oct. 1 - Dec. 15. The Rineyville Fire Department recently underwent reclassification with ISO. This process took about 6 months to complete, we are proud to announce that we are now hold a split classification of a 5/8b. This lower classification will have an immediate effect on your Home ownsers insurance. Please contact your provider today for savings. This change is due to the continued efforts of the fire department and the continued support from the community. OUR APPARATUS.
Currently the department is comprised of seven elected positions; Chief Shane Crutcher, Assistant Chief Tim Wiseman, Captain, Charles Bailey 2 Lieutenants, Troy Coogle, Cliff Hicks Secretary Eric Morgan, and Treasurer Byron Smith, and 25 Firefighters.We have 11 state certified in house instructors that conduct training on a weekly basis. The department is certified to the HAZMAT OPS level. The majority of the department hold Firefighter I, II certification and is trained to EMT first responder level.
The fire dept. has oversight from 7 nominated board members, 2 coming from within the department the other 5 from the community. The board is appointed to a 1 year term with the possibility of serving 5 years. The board is a part of the financial approval and strategic planning process. A budget is submitted by the Chief annually to the Board of Directors. Each trustee reviews the budget and then works with the department to reach it's goals set forth by the flexible five year plan. Currently Bobby Sheroan is the President of the Board.
